Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Telom ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with our website telom.app.br and our automated content-publishing tools. Telom shares plain-language summaries of peer-reviewed scientific research on human longevity and aging.

1. Who we are

Telom is a science-communication project that produces short-form videos and written summaries of longevity research. You can reach us at contact@telom.app.br.

2. Information we collect

• Website visitors: we collect only the minimal technical data required to serve the site (such as basic server logs). We do not require visitors to create an account to read our content.
• Subscribers (optional): if you create an account for premium content, we store your name, email address, and authentication data (passwords are stored only as salted hashes). Payment is processed by our payment provider; we do not store card numbers.
• Social-media integration: to publish our own videos to our own official social accounts, our software connects to third-party platform APIs (including TikTok). See Section 3.

3. TikTok integration

We use the TikTok Content Posting API and Login Kit solely to publish Telom's own videos to Telom's own official TikTok account. Specifically:

• An administrator of Telom authorizes the application once via TikTok's secure OAuth flow, granting the scopes user.info.basic (to identify the authorized account) and video.publish (to publish videos).
• We store the resulting access and refresh tokens securely on our own server and use them only to publish our own content on a schedule.
• We do not collect, request, or process data belonging to other TikTok users, and we do not use the API to read or gather third-party content.
• Our use of information received from TikTok APIs adheres to the TikTok Developer Terms of Service and Developer Policies.

4. How we use information

• To operate, maintain, and secure the website and our services.
• To publish our own content to our own social-media accounts.
• To manage optional subscriber accounts and process payments.
• To communicate with you when you contact us.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers strictly necessary to run our services (for example, our hosting and payment providers), and only as needed. We may disclose information if required by law.

6. Data storage and security

Data is stored on our own private server with access controls. Authentication tokens and passwords are protected using industry-standard techniques. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

7. Data retention

We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law. Social-media access tokens are retained only while the integration is active and are revoked/deleted when no longer needed.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email contact@telom.app.br.

9. Children

Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

10. Cookies

We use only the cookies necessary for basic site functionality and, where applicable, to keep subscribers signed in. We do not use them to track you across other websites.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
